Entraves às exportações das indústrias metalúrgicas sediadas no município de Indaiatuba

Abstract

Desde o século XVIII, intelectuais começaram analisar a importância do comércio internacional e criaram teorias sobre o melhor modelo de inserção de um país dentro dessa dinâmica. Desde então, a globalização mudou o mundo, e hoje o comércio exterior influencia diretamente o nível de desenvolvimento dos países, índices de emprego, valor das moedas, dentre outros aspectos fundamentais da economia. A exportação representa uma atividade essencial do comércio exterior visto que é a principal fonte de captação de moedas estrangeiras, melhora a competitividade das empresas, diminui a dependência do mercado consumidor interno e traz inúmeros benefícios a trabalhadores e empresários. Cada estado e município apresenta uma vocação, representada pela principal atividade produtiva, e no caso de Indaiatuba, grande parte das empresas sediadas em seu parque industrial pertencem ao setor metalúrgico. Este trabalho apresenta dados das exportações geradas pelo município, compara estes números com as exportações feitas por empresas metalúrgicas sediadas em Indaiatuba e levanta a hipótese de que há potencial para aumento nas exportações deste setor em Indaiatuba e procura verificar o que falta para que isso ocorra e quais são os principais entraves enfrentados. Para tanto, foi feito uma pesquisa de campo por meio de entrevista que revelou grande parte das empresas que acreditam no potencial aumento nas exportações, mas algumas barreiras precisam ser transpassadas. Dentre as barreiras citadas a que se destaca é a dificuldade que as empresas enfrentam para competir no mercado internacional devido aos altos custos somados à baixa eficiência logística e dificuldade de acesso a tecnologias.

Since the century XVIII, intellectuals have begun to analyze the importance of international trade and have created theories about the best model of insertion to a country within this dynamic. Since then, globalization has changed the world, and currently foreign trade has influenced directly the level of countries development, employment rates, value of currencies, among other fundamental aspects of the economy. Export is an essential activity of foreign trade, because it is the main source of foreign currency, improves the companies competitiveness, reduces dependence on the domestic consumer market and brings uncountable benefits to workers and entrepreneurs. Each state and municipality has a vocation, represented by the main productive activity, and in the case of Indaiatuba, most of the companies located in the industrial park belong to the metallurgical sector. This monography presents some data about the exports generated by the municipality, compares these numbers with the exports made by metallurgical companies and raises the hypothesis that there is potential for an increase in exports of this sector in Indaiatuba and seeks to verify what is missing for this to happen and what are the main obstacles faced. Therefore, a field survey was conducted through interviews that revealed that most companies believe there is potential for increased exports, but also there are some barriers to be overcome. Among the barriers cited, the emphasis, was the difficulty that companies face in competing in the international market due to the high costs added to the low logistics efficiency and difficulty to access technologies.
