A importância da proficiência da língua inglesa na carreira profissional

Abstract

O presente trabalho ressalta a importância da proficiência da língua inglesa para a carreira profissional. A justificativa se dá à partir da necessidade em apresentar estudos relacionados ao inglês e às carreiras. O tema possui o objetivo de analisar a importância do domínio do idioma para a carreira profissional, por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica, da aplicação de um questionário, contendo 8 perguntas, para 165 alunos e ex-alunos do curso de Gestão Empresarial da FATEC de Americana e entrevistas com dois profissionais da área de recursos humanos, e um coordenador do setor de finanças. A metodologia aplicada buscou uma integração entre os métodos quantitativo e qualitativo, a fim de obter uma análise rica do assunto. Foram apresentados resultados referentes ao questionário e relatos dos entrevistados, o que permitiu considerações aprofundadas sobre o tema. Os resultados foram diversos e apontaram que o domínio da língua inglesa é um aspecto que pode vir a ser importante para uma carreira de sucesso.

This final paper highlights the importance of English language proficiency for a professional career. The justification is due to the need of presenting studies related to the English Language and careers. The theme aims to analyze the importance of mastering the language for the professional career, through a bibliographical review, the application of a survey, containing 8 questions, to 165 students and alumni of the Business Management course at FATEC of Americana and interviews with two human resources professionals and a finance department coordinator. The applied methodology sought an integration between quantitative and qualitative methods, in order to obtain a richer analysis of the subject. Results regarding the questionnaire and reports of the interviewees were presented, which allowed for in-depth considerations on the topic. The results were diverse and pointed out that the mastery of the English language is an aspect that may prove to be important for a successful career.
