Engenharia social na TI – o que é e como se proteger

Abstract

Engenharia Social é a técnica de ludibriar uma ou mais pessoas com o objetivo de conquistar sua confiança e assim obter os dados da vítima ou o que mais o mal feitor desejar. A Segurança da informação é um dos assuntos que mais está em alta no mundo atual e, mesmo assim, quando fala-se em Engenharia Social, muitas pessoas não sabem o que é ou acabam relacionando-a com outras áreas sem ser a Tecnologia da Informação. Em outros casos, algumas pessoas até estão familiarizadas com a técnica, mas podem ter dúvidas de como se proteger e evitar essa situação. Diante do exposto, este artigo tem como finalidade instruir a população sobre o que é Engenharia Social e informá-la de modo geral, ensinando meios de dificultar a ação dos Engenheiros Sociais.

Social Engineering is the technique of deceiving one or more people with the aim of gaining their trust and thus obtaining the victim's data or whatever else the evildoer wants. Information Security is one of the most popular subjects in the world today and, even so, when talking about Social Engineering, many people do not know what it is or end up relating it to other areas other than Information Technology. In other cases, some people are even familiar with the technique, but may have doubts about how to protect themselves and avoid this situation. Given the above, this article aims to instruct the population about what Social Engineering is and inform it in general, teaching ways to make it difficult for Social Engineers to act.
