Nesse contexto das medidas protetivas, a sociedade buscou criar uma forma de agir inerente ao Estado para proteger mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica. A Carta Magna de 1988 prevê uma sociedade mais justa e tranquila, tendo a preocupação estatal com a família, a criança, o adolescente e o idoso. O Estado brasileiro assume a responsabilidade diante da família e de seus integrantes, tendo o compromisso de criar maneiras para acabar com a violência nas suas relações. Por isso, criou a Lei n. 11.340/2006, que trata sobre com mais severidade os crimes de violência doméstica contra a mulher, que a partir de ação ou omissão punível produza morte, lesão, sofrimento físico ou psicológico, assim como dano moral ou patrimonial. Os homens, na maioria dos casos, são os principais agressores, apresentando características como o alcoolismo, desemprego e autoestima baixa. mesmo que, por fora, não pareça que esses agressores possam fazer mal a alguém. As medidas protetivas surgiram com a Lei citada, conhecida como Maria da Penha, e preveem o afastamento do agressor do convívio da vítima, a extinção do seu porte de arma, entre outros. Porém, isso não é o suficiente, pois não há garantias de cumprimento destas medidas, por muitos motivos, como a falta de efetivo policial. Por isso, tratamos de possíveis soluções para o problema, como o botão do pânico, que é uma solução barata e eficaz, que vem trazendo vários resultados positivos, podendo ser usado para chamar os policias, bem como gravador e localizador geográfico. Essas medidas também valem para o homem vítima de violência doméstica.
