O inglês como o idioma da área da tecnologia da informação

Abstract

Investigamos neste estudo a ascensão do inglês como língua internacional da Tecnologia da Informação com o objetivo de compreender e estudar a importância que o inglês tem para profissionais e estudantes dos diversos segmentos que envolvem TI. Para conduzir essa investigação, procuramos explicar, historicamente, como o inglês se tornou a língua de TI. Procuramos também fazer um glossário de termos técnicos em inglês, utilizados em TI. E fizemos uma pesquisa qualitativa entre os alunos de sexto semestre de Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas e Gestão da Tecnologia da Informação sobre a utilização do inglês em sua vida profissional. Através das pesquisas desenvolvidas para explicar a ascensão e o predomínio do idioma, do levantamento e das explicações sobre os termos técnicos em inglês mais usados em TI e da discussão do questionário aplicado aos alunos dos sextos semestres de Gestão da Tecnologia da Informação (GTI) e Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas (ADS), pudemos confirmar a relevância que a língua inglesa possui no mercado e a forma como é utilizada.

We investigated in this study the rise of English as the international language of Information Technology with the aim of understanding and examining the importance of English for professionals and students in various segments related to IT. To conduct this investigation, we sought to historically explain how English became the language of IT. We also aimed to create a glossary of technical terms in English used in IT. Additionally, we conducted a qualitative survey among sixth-semester students of Systems Analysis and Development and Information Technology Management regarding the use of English in their professional lives. Through research developed to explain the rise and dominance of the language, the collection and explanations of the most used technical terms in English in IT, and the discussion of the questionnaire administered to sixth-semester students of Information Technology Management (GTI) and Systems Analysis and Development (ADS), we were able to confirm the relevance of the English language in the market and how it is used.
