Festa junina na pandemia: desafios e oportunidades em Presidente Prudente - SP

Abstract

A festa junina é um evento tradicional e cultural que ocorre todos os anos em várias cidades do Brasil. Um dos principais objetivos dessas festas é homenagear alguns santos da religião católica como: Santo Antônio, São João e São Pedro. A festa foi trazida ao Brasil pelos portugueses no período da colonização, no século XVI. O crescimento da festividade se sobressaiu no Nordeste do Brasil e passou a ser fortemente relacionada a símbolos e elementos típicos rurais. Durante a pandemia do Covid-19, todos os eventos foram cancelados inclusive as festas juninas. O presente artigo tem como objetivo principal compreender os desafios e as oportunidades na realização das festas juninas durante a pandemia do Covid – 19, nos anos de 2020 e 2021 em Presidente Prudente – SP. Tendo em vista o objetivo proposto, a presente pesquisa pode ser classificada como descritiva, explicativa e de abordagem qualitativa. Foram realizadas revisões bibliográficas com foco nos processos e desafios para a realização de festas juninas no período de pandemia na cidade de Presidente Prudente- SP. Destacamos que mesmo com a pandemia do Covid-19 as festas juninas sobreviveram à pandemia e ganharam novas formas na quarentena, como as realizadas em casa, online e em formato Drive Thru e que após a pandemia podem ser utilizadas para a comemoração dessa festividade.

Festa Junina is a traditional and cultural event that takes place every year in several cities in Brazil. One of the main objectives of these festivities is to honor some saints of the Catholic religion such as: Santo Antônio, São João and São Pedro. The party was brought to Brazil by the Portuguese during the colonization period, in the 19th century. The growth of the festivity stood out in the Northeast of Brazil and became strongly related to symbols and typical rural elements. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all events were canceled, including the June parties. The main objective of this article is to understand the challenges and the opportunities to hold the June festivities during the Covid-19 pandemic, in the years 2020 and 2021 in Presidente Prudente - SP. In view of the proposed objective, this research can be classified as descriptive, explanatory and with a qualitative approach. Bibliographic reviews were carried out focusing on the processes and challenges for holding June parties during the pandemic period in the city of Presidente Prudente-SP. We emphasize that even with the Covid-19 pandemic, the June parties survived the pandemic and gained new forms in the quarantine, such as those held at home, online and in Drive thru format and that after the pandemic can be used to celebrate this festivity.
